Stand out and Amplify Your Unique Message With a Podcast
Are you on a mission to change the world? Have you got a project or a goal in mind that keeps you up at night? Do you have a burning desire to help people any way you can? How do you share and amplify your message?
I’m not a fan of the term ‘mission-led business’ but if you want to shake things up in your industry for the greater good, then I suppose that’s what you have. If you’re passionate about your cause, you need people to get behind it. And for that to happen, they need to know it exists.
Amplify Your Message
So, what do I mean by ‘amplify your message’? Amplify means ‘to increase the volume’ or ‘expand on or enlarge upon’ – we’ll take the second definition. The goal is to get your message heard and understood by as many people as possible.
First, you need to define what your message is, and sum it up clearly and simply. It doesn’t have to be a snappy one-liner, but it does need to be jargon-free, easy to understand and easy for people to share.
If we want to change the world, it’s better to do it with others. So we need to find people who feel the same. To make a difference, connect with people who can contribute their own special skills and knowledge. Then you can make a much bigger impact than you would on your own.
Use a Podcast to Amplify Your Message
Clear on your message? Good. Now it’s time to share it far and wide. You’ve probably joined a number of online and offline groups, updated your website and been posting about your mission on social media (apart from X; that’s a dumpster fire).

Next, let’s get that message spread even further. And that’s where a podcast really comes into its own. A podcast can do some of the heavy lifting for you, so you can concentrate on making your mission a reality.
How? Well, once you’ve set it up properly, you can have your show go out on various podcast players so it can be listened to around the world. People can listen again and share the link with their friends. If you’re consistent with talking about what you do, you’ll have loyal followers who support you.
In this recent article from marketing and software experts HubSpot, they shared this very interesting statistic:
“Experts predict that over 71 million people will listen to podcasts in 2025.That’s 10 million more than the current listeners across the Spotify and Apple Podcast platforms.”
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a few hundred pairs of those ears listening to your show?
And depending on what your aim for the podcast is, you could even monetise your podcast through carefully-selected sponsors or via something like Patreon. It’s important to be transparent about what you’ll use the money for, though.
Repurpose your episodes in as many ways as you can think of. Create YouTube playlists, with or without videos. Pull out snippets to share on social media – you can use a tool to create audiograms so you can add captions and a relevant visual. The more you repurpose, the more you amplify your message.
It’s up to you whether or not you have a blog to go alongside your episodes, but the very least you should have shownotes so listeners know what each show is about. This is also where you can share important links. Have a clear call to action each time – ideally the same one – so that other people can amplify your message too.
