Create Your Expert Content

Is your best content getting neglected? What if you could make it work harder for you without any extra effort?

You're acknowledged as an expert in your field, but you've got too much work to do to have time to write blogs to showcase your skills.

Do you feel like you’re missing out on opportunities? Are your peers or competitors ahead of you even though you know you could do a better job?

If you want to speak on more stages or find bigger customers, then people need to know that you’re the go-to expert in your field.

If your existing content isn’t getting the traction you’d like, the answer isn’t necessarily to create more. Instead, look at how you can make the most of your most valuable work without starting again from scratch.

How Content Repurposing Makes Life Easier

There’s a lot of pressure on business owners at the moment to be everywhere online all the time. Over-reliance on AI means that people are showing up, but they’re not sharing anything particularly valuable. And it doesn’t sound much like them, either. And at the same time, we’re told that LinkedIn reach is down (especially if you’re a woman), Facebook pages are dead and even paid-for ads aren’t as successful as they were.

So what do you do? You make the most of the content you’ve already got, and to use a cliché, work smarter not harder. Many of the entrepreneurs I’ve worked with over the last decade have a ton of helpful, evergreen content that doesn’t get the exposure it deserves. They just don’t have time to repurpose that archive of material, or even any idea of where to start, and that’s where I come in.

Does this sound like you? You’ve been on a mission to appear on as many podcasts as possible, to try to reach your ideal customers. Or maybe you’ve got your own show, but once you’ve published an episode and shared the link on your socials, you’re already onto the next one.

To be successful, you need to be publishing content consistently. But that doesn’t mean you’ve got to create something new every time. One piece of content can be reused and reshared in multiple ways. And you don’t need to worry that you’re repeating yourself, because nobody sees every single thing you create.

Gudrun really helped me in many aspects of my online business. Amongst other things she helped me repurpose the content that I produce for the podcast and turns it into other ways that I can reach my audience. We're talking multiple different formats here: eBooks, blog posts, even the captions that you see underneath social videos, all that stuff. Thanks to Gudrun's input I've been able to expand the reach of my show. In fact, within three months of working together, she increased page views by 50%.

How I Help

As well as my more recent experience in content marketing, I continue to utilise the skills I learned in journalism college. This means I can identify the key messages that you should share with your audience. And I communicate them clearly so they quickly see how you can help them.

After 29 years as a published writer and 10 years as a copywriter, I know how to get to the heart of a business and what matters most to them and their clients. Because I rarely know a lot about an industry, I’m able to sift through information to find the bits that matter to the clients – I know the kinds of questions they have and what they need to know to make a buying decision. I’m a potential client too.

That’s why, whichever service you choose, we’ll have an initial chat about your business, your target audience and your goals. You pick the content that you think will help you to hit those goals, and I’ll turn them into new pieces that are ready to publish.

As a busy trainer, I rely on in-depth case studies and white papers to hand out to delegates, but don’t always have time to produce these myself. Gudrun is able to take the notes I supply, carry out research and write up the findings into a clear, detailed guide I can use as supporting course material. She does this even for complex topics such as mental health support in the workplace, creating a valuable white paper I could offer to large organisations as a helpful resource.

How it Works

After we’ve had our chat, you send over the files of everything we’ve agreed to repurpose. If it’s a podcast or video, the files can be in MP3 or MP4 format, as I can convert and extract the audio. I’ll also ask you to share with me your call to action and any links to include. We can agree the format of your shownotes and the accompanying blog, plus which social media platforms you want to share the episode on. If we’re working on a one-off project to create an ebook, I’ll proofread and edit the transcribed copy.

That gives me a rough idea of which bits can be extracted and turned into blog posts. Then, it’s a case of crafting the individual blogs and writing the intros and conclusions. If they’re going to be a series, I’ll add linking text, too. Content can be repurposed from any starting point into multiple mediums and for a range of platforms. While it’s often used to break longer-form content into smaller pieces, we can also take newsletters and social media posts and make them into blogs or scripts to record yourself.

In case you’re wondering, a one-hour interview produces around 20,000 words. Not all the blogs will be the same length, but I aim for between 600 and 1,000 words. You’ll get at least four posts, probably more like six. Every piece of content is created from your own words, so you know that they’re original. I don’t get AI to do all the heavy lifting, so they’re written by a human with the skills to capture your authentic voice while making them professionally written.

And because they’re based on pre-existing podcasts and videos which have proved popular, then you know that your existing audience will find the blog posts helpful. They’ll also attract new people into your world. Each article is also written with a keyword in mind but not keyword stuffed! That makes it clear what the topic is and helps the blog to rank higher without being penalised by search engines. They have an SEO-friendly title and I’ll share 1-3 snippets from each post that you can share on socials.

I'm quite a prolific content creator but I always had a feeling that I wasn't making enough of the content that I produced. When I started working with Gudrun, she transformed the way that I manage it all. She pulls blogs, videos and webinars together by theme, extracts the goodness from and repackages them as ebooks or as content upgrades I can give away as lead magnets. She helps me to maximise the amount of value I get from every piece of content I’ve got in my archive, and from new things too.

Why Should You Choose Me as Your Copywriter?

Wondering why you should invest in a copywriter? Well, like other aspects of your business, sometimes you need an outside expert to help you to be the expert in your field. But here are some other reasons why I’m a good fit for you:

  • I save you time. You don’t need to find a gap in your diary to write – we use what you already have to create posts
  • You’ll have blogs that your customers want to read
  • You’ll stay top of mind by being visible
  • You’ll grow your business and be acknowledged as a thought leader
  • I’ve got a proven track record with thought leaders in various industries, including IT, personal finance and digital marketing
  • I have 10 years’ experience in public sector roles, liaising with senior leadership teams both within my organisations and across the NHS, police and civil service

You might also be thinking: “Why don’t I just use AI instead of investing in a copywriter?” Well, you CAN do that, but AI can’t do nuance. It doesn’t know what to take out and what to add in, and it can’t weave in your previous experiences and demonstrate your expertise, because it can’t ask you about them. Plus the output it generates will need a LOT of editing. If you work with a professional writer (ie, me!) they do the editing for you.

Talk to Gudrun! If you run a business she can help you! If you want to become an authority in your field then talk to Gudrun! She is a fantastic writer, who can capture your tone of voice and create content at an unbelievable rate. Why not hire Gudrun to help you turn your blogs into books? Great to work with, accurate and timely and will always go the extra mile.

FAQs

No. If your podcast is a solo show, we can still repurpose the content in the same way. You can even record your thoughts with the sole purpose of turning it into blogs – it doesn’t have to be pre-existing content. Just remember that that’s more work for you! You can also repurpose other types of content, such as a course.

That’s no problem! If you’d like to do more with your content archive, find nuggets of inspiration and create evergreen content, we can focus on that. Let me know how much you have and what you’d like to do with it and we’ll make a plan together!

No problem! There are a couple of ways we can fix that. If you have a topic you want to talk about, I can interview you with pre-agreed questions and your answers will form the basis of the blogs and ebook. If you’d like some additional content, we can record this as an audio and/or video that is an extra asset you can share online and repurpose into snippets and shorter pieces.

I use a tool called SubEasy.ai to create the transcripts from the podcast episodes. As a qualified transcriptionist, I know first-hand how time-consuming it is to do these by hand.

However, I edit and proofread the transcripts myself, and the rest of the process is all me.

Unfortunately my design skills are somewhat lacking! However, I know several great graphic designers who can create a fabulous ebook in whichever format you like.

Absolutely! If you’d prefer to build your own package, or your needs will change month by month, then we can create a bespoke solution together.
