“Writing a blog without writing” probably sounds like a dream come true, or an impossibility. But there are a couple of ways you can create blogs with minimal writing.

I know from conversations how many people hate the whole process of creating a blog – setting up a text document, creating headings, coming up with a title, finding an image, choosing key words – and that’s before you have to come up with a minimum of 300 words to meet SEO requirements!

Writing a blog post means having to allocate time to write, time you could be spending on other aspects of your work, in a meeting or even taking an early finish. Sometimes, it feels like a chore, rather than a marketing exercise that can help your business.

Other Ways of Blog Writing

So how else could you do it? Well, with a smartphone you can make a quick video or an audio recording with the dictation app. Video is increasingly popular, so you may just decide to upload it in place of a blog. However, it may be a bit rough around the edges, so you may prefer to use it as a starting point.blog writing

Also, creating a video or audio file first, rather than producing this from a blog, means that it has limited use in terms of disseminating your content further. You can send the file to your laptop and type it up at your leisure, creating a blog post which you can then repurpose in many different ways.

Producing content like this allows you to be spontaneous – when an idea pops into your head, take five minutes to record it for later. It saves you having to think too much about what you want to say, as it comes naturally, and sounds more authentically you.

You can save yourself even more time by getting your video or sound file professionally transcribed, meaning there’s less writing to do. The resulting blog can be properly edited and proofread and ready to be uploaded. It can also be repurposed into quotes, graphics and more.
